Blog #3 Hans Hubermann
For this blog I am choosing to write about Hans Hubermann. Hans Hubermann was an honest and good hearted person. He and Rosa Hubermann took in Liesel after hardships in her life such as her mothers abandonment and her brothers death. Liesel responded very well to Hans rather than Rosa because of how Rosa treated her also because she was not her real mother. Hans on the other hand was the first father figure her life so she was drawn to him. He also was the one wtheir for Liesel when she was going through her tough times. He would be there when Liesel would awaking from nightmares of her brother and read to her. It started off with the grave diggers handbook and moved on the numerous others. This helped Liesel catch up with her grade level and not become embarrassed when reading in front of the class. Hans played the piano accordion and a painter by trade. He play his piano in the winter to make a little more money at pubs in Molching. He had two children other than Liesel, Hans junior, who was a Nazi, and Trudy a live-in housemaid. Hans and his son got into a heated arguement the day of Hitler birthday about him being a coward because he wasn't part of the Nazi clan. This really hit him hard to see his son walk away from his life as he did but knowing the world he grew up in there was nothing he could do. Hans was one person of that 10 percent of people who didn't agree with Hitler and his actions but was the only one to do something about it such as paint over the Jewish criticizing and worry about his application to be a Nazi member. He stood up for the right thing as much as he could without endangering himself or his family and I can truly respect him for that. I like Hans because he has a good head on his shoulders, he's loving and always makes the right decisions for the sake of his family.

Blog #2 "Prisoner on the Hell Planet (the comic within the comic)"
The prisoner on the hell planet was a very detailed and in depth comic but it was also, in my opinion the most confusing section of the novel. It mentions how his father saw the book and began to cry because the comic was so similar to the actual truth of Artie's mother dieing. I think Artie wrote this comic to get everything that he was going through off his chest. When you look at the text along with the pictures you can see several emotions such as sadness and depression. You get a sense that Artie may feel guilty of his mothers death, maybe something he did or did not do. He mentions his last encounter with his mother and how he basically blew her off by not acknowledging her. He might feel guilty that he never really told his mom he loved her or did not appreciated her being there for him. It talks about him being in a mental hospital and it was because of his mother. I think his mother may have killed herself over that reason and now Artie is realizing along with the over people who is blaming this tragedy on him that it may be his fought.

summarizing myself
All right where do I start. My name is Dainen Green and I am from Glassboro, New Jersey, which is south jersey for all you lame Pennsylvania people. I am a sophomore for Ship and currently undeclared. I am leaning towards exercise science as a major but I not completely sure. Though I did think it out to where if I did receive my bachelors in exercise science I would stay at Ship one more year, do something in that year like teachers certificate or something. Then the following year I would go back to my hometown where there's a school called Rowan University with a great medical program and be a graduate student majoring in occupational therapy. As you can tell I'm still not completely sure on what I want to do with my future. I play football for Ship and I am one of the only two sophomores starting for a championship defense. Although Ship wasn't my first or second choice it was a good one. After schools like Maine, Marist, Albany dropped out because of those dumb SAT's Ship called and I made my visit in late May and told them I was coming and here I am. I chose culturally diverse Lit because I need help in the writing area. Well that's what my coach told me after seeing what I got in WIFYS, don't ever take Dokko. The last book I read was something in that class I forget, all we read in that class was something about Asian people that's probably why I am going to like this class more because its culturally diverse lol. I don't know to much about cultural diversity, maybe that's because it's not a big concern in the world today. I have friends from different backgrounds than myself that have totally different views about the world and that's only someone from a different state. Now what about people in Africa or England how do they view the world, what are their beliefs? What I want to get out of class is how other parts of the world function and how similar is it to ourselves.
